What type of 35mm camera should I use for my college photography class? - 35mm camera diagram

Well, says the course description that we create our own 35-mm camera should do. Do you think must be one of the more expensive digital SLR cameras? Or the film may be normal (which you can comfortably online 50)? Class has not started yet, but I'm afraid, because when it comes to DSLR, I do not think I can afford. And then, I'm just kind of fun, so do not necessarily want too much money for it (spent apart from the movies, etc.). Everyone wants to clarify this for me?
